First of all, I would like to thank you for visiting my site, and thank you for reading this biography. Photography is something I really enjoy doing. I'm also interested in technology in general and I do know a bit about web design (from my previous endeavors). I live in the city of Vancouver, Canada (location of the 2010 Winter Olympics), and I'm proud to live there. It is such a gorgeous city.
Photography's always been something that raised my eyebrows. Until recently, I never thought I could ever make good images, and after a few of them, I decided I wanted to learn more.
I am quite young by photographers' standards, fourteen to be precise, but I strongly advocate against ageism, racism, and sexism. It's just not right. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but personally I believe people should be judged not upon their tangible traits, but by themselves. If you have to ask, I am of Asian ethnicity and proud to be so.
For people who are interested in gear (don't be an equipment measurbator), I have two film cameras (P&S) and three digitals (P&S). My currently used camera is a Nikon Coolpix P5100, which is a compact camera capable of good images (your camera doesn't matter). I hope to save up for an investment into a dSLR system within the next twelve months. For film I have those two film 'compacts'. One from Pentax and one from Argus. My father also has some older autofocus cameras from companies like Yashica that I hope to dig up in the future. Film that I use is basically whatever is readily available where I live. I have used Kodak Ultra Max 800 but no longer use it. Currently for print film I use Fujifilm Superia X-TRA 400 and 800. I also use Kodak BW400CN. For slide film (which is sparse for me to find in brick&mortar stores), I have Fuji Sensia 100. If I can find it, I'd like to use/try Fuji Reala 100, Astia 100, Neopan Acros (100), and of course Velvia 50. I would also like to try Ilford B/W films.
I've always held a soft spot for Pentax. This may come as odd because a lot of people fond of Pentax were there through the vast, amazing history of the pioneering photography companies (that many, unfortunately, no longer are in the industry). But my first real camera was a Pentax autofocus film point & shoot, which introduced me to photography. The subsequent cameras and later my first digital were Pentax. I've always been fond of Nikon too. I think of photographic equipment as my eyes when I take pictures. I try to make it see the world as I do. I don't think of them as just 'tools'.
Well that's all I really feel like writing for now, and I think it is a good enough introduction to who I am. Enjoy!
